Board/Committee opportunities with Columbus arts orgs.
Do you love the arts? Are you ready for Board service? Arts nonprofits are always seeking new board candidates who are representative of our diverse communities and who will bring their skills and fresh perspective to the table.
The Greater Columbus Arts Council will host a virtual event to help connect Columbus arts organizations to new people. Because our organizations are below the national average on board diversity, we are placing a priority on professionals of color but it is not exclusive to these groups. Using survey responses on skills and interests, we will match organizations and people in breakout rooms for further conversation via Zoom in mid-October. We hope that after the Zoom gathering there will be interest to continue conversations offline to explore board, committee or volunteer roles.

Tagging some of our local writers/artists: @snealewu-wilberforce-edu @donna-marbury @Fari @barbfant127gmail-com @Wombanist @Melissa | Not sure if any of y’all have interest or capacity but see above and feel free to share with others. Also, feel free to share any history/context you may have regarding this. What I know if that Allison reached out to me a couple months ago and is genuinely interested in helping to match more “diverse” individuals with art org board service. But beyond that, not sure of the process and/or what history GCAC has in the community around this kind of work.

I love GCAC. They also asked me to send an RFP as I was highly recommended…but I didn’t have capacity to submit because I wasn’t aware of how intense my September schedule would be!
At this moment I need to find people to replace me in the three organizations where I have a heavy hand. I am tireeeeeedddd.
