Hi everyone!
Hey ladies! My name is Heather, I am so very excited to see that this group exists! I went to the very first meeting of Zora’s Daughters back in 2016 and after having two babies, I got out of the loop. I’m back, and so happy to see how much this has grown! I’m officially done having babies and want to connect and make great friends. I’m 29, mom of two baby boys, and I work at home as a stay at home mom. I have numerous interests and hobbies. I love theatre, reading, writing, wine, beer, CHOCOLATE!, and music. I trained as both a postpartum and birth doula on two separate occasions. I am passionate about prison reform and went to college for Criminology and Sociology. I worked very hard to pass a proposal through Ohio prisons in order to bring a podcast program to inmates and ultimately after months of trying to get through, I threw in the towel. If I could do anything now it would be to get doulas for incarcerated women. I am finding it very difficult to juggle things with two babies at home (one is 2 and the other is 5 months old), and I think I’ve discovered that I’m the type of person who needs a partner for motivation and to get things done. I have so much passion and excitement and the means to push things through, i just need someone to be there with me to make sure I don’t give up. I also love sign language and in particular, teaching it to my 2 year old. I know a little about a lot of things, and I always want to learn more. I’m so happy to be here in this group! I hope to meet some/all of you soon!
